Diamond is a most valuable and elusive resource in Minecraft. Although it’s not that useful after you’ve been playing for a long time, but for beginning of the game, who doesn’t want to get more? Here I’ll share to you here how to get diamonds easier.
- Dig to the altitude Y:11.00. As you can see the chart below, here’s the area that most diamonds generate. It’s a best place to find and mine diamonds here. The way to check where you are is to press F3, you can find X, Y, Z, and their coordinates. Also, all the lave underground was generate at Y:11.00, so it’s also very safety to avoid lava.

2. Choose a direction and dig forward for a 3*3 space path, than dig a 1*2 space path on two sides of the wall as the picture. The reason to design your branch mining this way, is
for most valuable mineral’s volume is around 2*2, you’ll not miss any minerals around you, also you wouldn’t get lost when you go through the main mining road.
Remember to set your torches, you don’t want creeper spawn in your mine. Press F3 to check the block light of the block you’re standing is above 7. You can set the torches each five blocks to keep illumination, as the circle in the picture.

3. By the way, don’t forgot all the tools you need! A water bucket to deal with lava, enough torches, iron pickaxes, food, and weapon. Hope you can get all the diamond and mineral you want!
